- Keep the box or the bottom of the box that has the serial number listed. This will be needed if you are sending in a rebate. This also contains the phone number and address of the company in case repair is needed. Your model number is located on the bottom of your Sonicare. If your unit breaks or has a problem, please call the number on the box: 1(800)682-7664 or www.philips.com/sonicare for repair instructions.
- Read the instructions prior to use. The unit should be charged for at least 24 hours during the first few days of use. The brush can be kept on the charger. If going out of town for a few days, it is not necessary to take the charger if the unit is fully charged.
- Place the brush head in your mouth before turning it on. It will automatically turn off after two minutes of brushing. Every 30 seconds there is an interrupted pulse. This is designed so that you are moving the brush from one quadrant to the next and brushing equally in all areas. Go Care is a quick one minute brushing (when you are in a hurry) and Max Care is a timed 3 minute brush that will have an interrupted pulse every 45 seconds. If taking out before, please turn off before taking out of your mouth, otherwise toothpaste will splatter.
- Hold the handle lightly when brushing. Let the brush do the work for you! Remember to clean the entire surface of your teeth, including the gum around them.
- When first getting accustomed to your new Sonicare, the unit is designed to be a little slower at first, even on the highest setting. After several uses the unit will be at full speed on the highest setting. It has three brushing modes: Clean, Sensitive and Massage.
- Rinse the brush after each use. Remove the brush head from the handle and rinse the brush head connection at least once a week. Replace your brush head every 3 months for optimal results.
- This brush will feel completely different than your traditional manual toothbrush. It does take some getting used to! Keep using it and in a few days you will wonder how you ever got along without it!
